The Merrell Noden Track Club kicked off its sixth season with an impressive showing at the Armory Youth Winter Solstice Invitational this past Sunday. Our plucky squad racked up 42 PRs (Personal Record), 18 MNTC All-Time Top Ten performances, and 5 new club records over the course of the long day in the cavernous Armory! New marks were established by JOSH MOORE in the 55 (6.87) and 200 (23.78), COCO SAGOO-JONES in the 55 (8.10), and 200 (28.33), and MARTIN HRONEC in the 1000 (2:58.79). Among other highlights, JACK BRITTON won the High Jump with a leap of 5′ 7″, TENZINE CHIME copped the Silver Medal in the Girls’ Long Jump, and REESE BIENSTOCK took home the Bronze Medal in the Boys’ Long Jump. Ten of our athletes participated in their first ever track meet and performed well during this eight-hour track and field carnival. MNTC will return to the Armory on 12/30 for the Youth Team Challenge Meet.
