Jay Jay, Su-Bou, EmJay, Julie Jet, and Ariel, five freshmen cross country runners at Eleanor Roosevelt High School, copped second place at the Manhattan Borough Freshmen Cross Country Championships in mid-October. The Fab Five, all of whom will join MNTC in December, finished behind Stuyvesant High School, seven times the size of ELRO, and took home the massive Silver trophy. Jay Jay, 4th, and Su-Bou, 7th, received individual medals for their efforts on the hilly 1.5 mile course in Van Cortland Park. The team will next be in action on 10/29 when it competes in the PSAL Freshmen City Championships, an event that includes teams from all five of New York City’s boroughs.
