Kudos to my seven Eleanor Roosevelt HS runners, all MNTC team members, who competed this past May at the elite PSAL New York City Track and Field Championships. (Two more qualified but were unable to race due to injury. The total of nine qualifiers is the most ever for ELRO.) Flo Go, Ricky Smooth, Binky, and L-Ro, pictured with Coach Joe, earned the first City Championship medal in school history, taking sixth place in the 4×800 Relay with an ELRO record time of 10:41.99. Ravin’ Maeven (L) and Slick (R) came home 12th and 9th in the 3000 Meter Run, as both shattered the school record with times of 11:40.14 and 11:48.41. And J-Dub finished 22nd in the 400 Meter Dash, racking up a Personal Record time of 54.89. An impressive performance from a school with only 500 students.
